Title: I AM
Description: Today in our Lenten sermon series on the "I am the ..." statements that Jesus makes about himself in John we consider an encounter that Jesus had with a group of Pharisees in the Temple. In this encounter Jesus clearly to his audience made a claim of which C.S. Lewis reflects upon in Mere Christianity:
"...let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to." We are each posed with deciding our response as, "...shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon, or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God".
